Under Pressure: International Students, OPT, US Policy & Campus Realities. What Comes Next?
For international students at US universities, uncertainty continues. This fall, new international enrollment is expected to drop, and the Optional Practical Training (OPT) program is at risk. Top US universities are negotiating with the Department of Education, with multiple court cases pending. In this webinar, Chris Glass, professor of the practice at Boston College and affiliated faculty, Center for International Higher Education (CIHE), discusses how these policies are unfolding on campuses. His research focused on international student experiences and global mobility offers valuable insight into this topic. This session was jointly presented by IECA's Global, Government Relations, College, and DEIA Committees.
