IECA's semi-annual conferences are attended by consultants, school, college and program admissions officers, administrators and staff, and related service companies. Conferences feature thought-provoking and informative workshops and discussions led by leaders in their fields including specialists in educational trends, college admissions and boarding school issues, adolescent development, learning differences, and emotional disorders and treatments. Continuing education hours are available. Full and half-day pre-conference trainings and campus tours are typically offered. Our two-hour "Information Swaps" are College, School & Program Fairs that allow for increased networking among consultants and admissions/program representatives. And our Vendor Hall allows attendees to visit the exhibits of companies who do not work directly with students, but who provide related resources (i.e. publications, software, equipment, financing, etc.).

Two Special Pre-conference Workshops:
(In addition to others)
MBTI Certification Class
Tuesday, November 3
IECA’s new exclusive partnership with CPP will provide IECA members with the opportunity to become MBTI certified in a one-day program. This certification is exactly the same (with same instructors) as what is offered in a four-day training costing three times the amount. The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® Certification Program prepares you to use and interpret the MBTI instrument and includes training in the MBTI® Step II™ assessment that provides more in-depth insights into an individual’s personality type and behavior using 20 additional facets.
Foundations of Therapeutic Practice
Tuesday, November 3 (all day) and Wednesday, November 4 (half-day)
This day and a half training is ideal for those newer to therapeutic consulting, IECs considering adding a therapeutic specialty, and experienced IECs who want a refresher course to update their knowledge with the most recent developments. The scope of the workshop will comprise three major domains: business practice, practical considerations, and clinical practice. It will also include a broad range of topics from ethical considerations of practice, to understanding Psychoeducational testing to reviewing levels of care in therapeutic programming.
